1. تأَلّقَ برقٌ مِن تهامةَ لامعُ

    يبشِّرُ أَنَّ اللّهَ للشملِ جامعُ

    Bright lightning gleamed from Tihama,

    Heralding that God will reunite us.

  2. يحاكي خفوقَ القلبِ منّي خفوقَهُ

    فهل راعَهُ مثلي من البينِ رائعُ

    Its flickering mirrors the beating of my heart;

    Has a terror of parting frightened it, then, as it has me?

  3. لقد طالَ ليلي لانتظارِ صباحكم

    فهل لتباشيرِ الصّباحِ طلائعُ

    Indeed, my night has grown long awaiting your dawn;

    Are there, then, forerunners of dawn’s first glad signs?

  4. صفتْ وضفتْ في الجودِ منكَ وفي العُلى

    مشارعُ بالحسنى لنا ومدارعُ

    Pure and ample, in your generosity and eminence, have become

    The watering places and robes you graciously bestow on us.

  5. كأنّك شمسُ الدَّولةِ البدرُ بيننا

    ونحنُ حواليكَ النُّجومُ الطّوالعُ

    You seem the sun of the realm, the full moon among us,

    And we are the rising stars around you.
