ياO أَسداًa lion يحميwho guards عرينَthe den of العُلىlofty glory
يا أَسداً يحمي عرينَ العُلى
هنيتَmay you be blessed جمعَreunion of الشّملِthe family circle بالشِّبلِwith the lion cub
هنيتَ جمعَ الشّملِ بالشِّبلِ
O lion who guards the den of glory,
O lion protecting the lofty den
May you be blessed in reunion with the lion cub,
You brought together the family with the cub
عثمانUthman ذيpossessor of النُّورينِthe two lights بينَamong الورىmankind
عثمان ذي النُّورينِ بينَ الورى
مِنof سؤدٍnobility سامٍlofty ومنand of فضلِexcellence
مِن سؤدٍ سامٍ ومن فضلِ
Uthman, whose two lights among mankind
Uthman of the two lights among all people
are lofty nobility and excellence.
With pure and abundant grace
ياO طيّبَnoble النّجرِlineage بلغتَyou have attained المنىwishes
يا طيّبَ النّجرِ بلغتَ المنى
تملياًenjoying for long بالطَّاهرِin the pure النّجلِthe son
تملياً بالطَّاهرِ النّجلِ
O you of noble stock, you have attained your wishes,
O good star you attained what you wished
long delighting in your pure son.
Completely virtuous and glorious
يحكيكَhe resembles you إقداماًin daring وبأساًand in might فماso how
يحكيكَ إقداماً وبأساً فما
أَشبهclosely resembles هذاthis الفرعthe branch بالأَصلِto the root
أَشبه هذا الفرع بالأَصلِ
He mirrors you in daring and might—how
Your valor and might portray
closely this branch resembles its root!
How much this branch resembles its origin
فحائلُand signs (uncertain reading) الرُّشدِsound judgment علىupon بِشْرهِhis cheerful expression
فحائلُ الرُّشدِ على بِشْرهِ
شاهدةٌbearing witness بالفضلِto excellence والنُّبلِand nobility
شاهدةٌ بالفضلِ والنُّبلِ
And [signs?] of sound judgment upon his smiling face
The locks of righteousness upon his cheer
bear witness to excellence and nobility.
Witness to grace and nobility
مَلْكٌa king قَضَىhas decreed اللّهُGod لهfor him أَنّهthat he
مَلْكٌ قَضَى اللّهُ له أَنّه
علىabove ملوكِthe kings of الأَرضِthe earth يستعليshall rise
على ملوكِ الأَرضِ يستعلي
A king for whom God has decreed that he
A king whom Allah has decreed
shall rise above the kings of the earth.
Supreme over the kings of earth
بالملكِthrough the king النّاصرِal-Nasir (the helper) سلطانناour sultan
بالملكِ النّاصرِ سلطاننا
طالتْhas grown long يدُthe hand of الإحسانِbeneficence والعدلِand justice
طالتْ يدُ الإحسانِ والعدلِ
Through al-Malik al-Nasir, our sultan,
Through the conquering king our sultan
the hand of beneficence and justice has reached far.
The hand of kindness and justice is long
بشملهِwith his household المجموعِreunited آمالُناour hopes
بشملهِ المجموعِ آمالُنا
بنُجحهاthrough their fulfillment مجموعةُunited الشملِin unity
بنُجحها مجموعةُ الشملِ
With his household reunited, our hopes
In his unified family are our hopes
are united through their fulfillment.
In its success all hopes unified
