تبدُّلَreplacement الوحشةِloneliness بالأُنسِwith companionship
تبدُّلَ الوحشةِ بالأُنسِ
The servant hopes for a slave of his own,
The slave hopes for his freedom
for loneliness to give way to companionship.
Loneliness turns into companionship

بطلعةٍ تشرقُ كالشّمسِ
She will draw him out of the night of his obsessive thoughts
It takes him out of the night of worry
with a countenance that shines like the sun.
With a sunrise shining like the sun
فوحدةُfor the loneliness الغربةِexile قدindeed حرَّكتْhas stirred
فوحدةُ الغربةِ قد حرَّكتْ
سواكنَdormant stirrings البلبالِanguish والمسِّand madness
سواكنَ البلبالِ والمسِّ
For the loneliness of exile has stirred
So the loneliness of exile has stirred
anguish and madness that lay dormant.

You are still the Giver of what it obtained
by your sword—dark-eyed and dusky-lipped women.
By your sword of maidens and booty

noble women among the captives from Jerusalem.
For the noble captives of Jerusalem
