بفتوحِin the conquests of عصرِكَyour age يَفْخرُtakes pride الإسلامُIslam
بفتوحِ عصرِكَ يَفْخرُ الإسلامُ
وبنُورِand with the light of نصركَyour victory تُشرقُshine الأَيامُthe days
وبنُورِ نصركَ تُشرقُ الأَيامُ
Islam takes pride in the conquests of your age.
With the conquests of your era, Islam boasts,
And the days shine with the light of your victory.
And with the light of your victory, days shine,
وبفتحِand through the conquest of قعةِcitadel (likely intended) بعلبكBaalbek تهذَّبتْbecame orderly
وبفتحِ قعةِ بعلبك تهذَّبتْ
هذيthese الممالكُrealms واستقامَand was set right الشّامُal-Sham
هذي الممالكُ واستقامَ الشّامُ
And through the conquest of Baalbek’s citadel, order was restored
With the conquest of Baalbek citadel, these kingdoms became refined,
to these realms, and al-Sham was set right.
And Syria was set right,
وبكىand wept الحسودُthe envious one دماًنblood (apparent typo) وثغرُand the mouth of الثّغرِthe frontier منfrom
وبكى الحسودُ دماًن وثغرُ الثّغرِ من
فرحٍjoy بنصركَat your support للهدىfor true guidance بَسّامُsmiling broadly
فرحٍ بنصركَ للهدى بَسّامُ
And the envious one wept blood, while the frontier’s mouth, from
The envious wept blood, and the mouths of passes were delighted,
joy at your support for true guidance, smiles broadly.
With your victory for guidance, a destroyer,
فتحٌa conquest تسنَّىwas made possible فيduring الصِّيامِfasting كأَنّناas though we
فتحٌ تسنَّى في الصِّيامِ كأَنّنا
شكراًin gratitude لماfor what منحَbestowed الإلهُGod صيامُfasting ones
شكراً لما منحَ الإلهُ صيامُ
A conquest made possible during fasting—as though we
A conquest accomplished during fasting, as if
were fasting in gratitude for what God bestowed.
We are thanking what God has granted, fasting,
منwho ذاis it that رأَىhas seen فيduring الصّومِthe fast عيدَa festival of سعادةٍhappiness
من ذا رأَى في الصّومِ عيدَ سعادةٍ
حلّتْhas come لناto us والفطرُwhile breaking the fast فيهduring it حرامُis forbidden
حلّتْ لنا والفطرُ فيه حرامُ
Who has ever seen, during the fast, a festival of happiness
Who has seen during fasting, a day of happiness?
come to us, while breaking the fast is forbidden then?
That has descended upon us, while breaking fast in it is prohibited,
باليُمنِfor good fortune هذاthis الشّهرُmonth مشهورٌrenowned كماjust as
باليُمنِ هذا الشّهرُ مشهورٌ كما
قدindeed عمَّspread everywhere بالبركاتِwith blessings هذاthis العامُyear
قد عمَّ بالبركاتِ هذا العامُ
This month is renowned for good fortune, just as
This month is renowned for its fortunes, as
this year has spread blessings far and wide.
This year has been filled with blessings,
أَسدَىbestowed صلاحُSalah (rectitude) الدِّينof the faith والددُّنياand of the world (apparent typo) يداًa hand; a favor
أَسدَى صلاحُ الدِّين والددُّنيا يداً
بنوالِهاthrough its bounty سوقُthe market of الرَّجاءِhope تُقامُis established
بنوالِها سوقُ الرَّجاءِ تُقامُ
Salah al-Din wa-l-Dunya has extended a hand,
Salah ad-Din restored wellbeing and the world extended
through whose bounty the market of hope is established.
A hand with its gains, the market of hopes is established,
فتملَّso savor فتحكَyour conquest واقصدand seek الفتحَthe conquest الذيwhich
فتملَّ فتحكَ واقصد الفتحَ الذي
بحصولهِthrough its attainment لفتوحكَfor your conquests الإتمامُcompletion
بحصولهِ لفتوحكَ الإتمامُ
So savor your conquest, and seek the conquest whose
Your conquests have been completed, so seek the conquest by which
attainment will bring your conquests to completion.
Your conquests will be perfected,
دُمْlive on للعُلىfor glory حتىso that يدومmay endure نظامُهاits order
دُمْ للعُلى حتى يدوم نظامُها
واسلمْand remain safe يعزُّgrows mighty بنصرِكَthrough your victory الإسلامُIslam
واسلمْ يعزُّ بنصرِكَ الإسلامُ
Live on for glory, so that its order may endure,
Continue to elevate the sublime until its system endures,
and remain safe; through your victory, Islam grows mighty.
And submit, so that with your victory, Islam triumphs.
