وليي علي حيث كنت وليه

ومخلصه بل عبد عبد لعبده

Ali is my patron, since I have been his devotee.

My allegiance is to Ali wherever he may be

And his sincere devotee—nay, a slave of his slave's slave.

And his savior, rather the servant of his servant

لعمرك قلبي مغرم بمحبتي

لعمرك قلبي مغرم بمحبتي

له طول عمري ثم بعد لولده

له طول عمري ثم بعد لولده

By your life, my heart is enraptured by my love

By your life, my heart is infatuated with my love for him

For him throughout my life, and afterward for his offspring.

All my life and even after for his son

وهم مهجتي هم منيتي هم ذخيرتي

وهم مهجتي هم منيتي هم ذخيرتي

وقلبي بحبيهم مصيب لرشده

وقلبي بحبيهم مصيب لرشده

And they are my lifeblood; they are my desire; they are my treasure.

They are my innermost thoughts, my wishes, my provisions

And my heart, through my love for them, finds its right course.

And my heart is guided by my love for them

وكل كبير منهم شمس منبر

وكل كبير منهم شمس منبر

وكل صغير منهم شمس مهده

وكل صغير منهم شمس مهده

And every elder among them is a sun upon the pulpit.

Every elder among them is a shining sun

And every child among them is the sun of his cradle.

And every young one among them is the sun of his cradle

وكل كمي منهم ليث حربه

وكل كمي منهم ليث حربه

وكل كريم منهم غيث وهده

وكل كريم منهم غيث وهده

And every armored warrior among them is the lion of his battle.

And every brave one among them is a lion of war

And every generous man among them is life-giving rain for his lowland.

And every generous one among them is rain and guidance

بذلت له جهدي بمدح مهذب

بذلت له جهدي بمدح مهذب

بليغ ومثلي حسبه بذل جهده

بليغ ومثلي حسبه بذل جهده

I devoted my utmost effort to him in polished praise,

I have exerted my effort in praising him eloquently

Eloquent—and for one like me, giving his utmost suffices.

And one like me, his effort is enough for praising his glory

وكلفت فكري حذف حرف مقدم

على كل حرف عند مدحي لمجده

على كل حرف عند مدحي لمجده

And I charged my mind to omit a letter placed

And I tasked my mind to put every letter in its proper place

Before every letter, when I praise his glory.
