A sun pours upon an earth that rivals it in splendor

Streams from the springs of light, watering it.

Ah, how lovely March's sun and its joy,

And the length of its breaths, while love weakens it.

Its lights flutter above the fields, as

They fluttered on the brow of its sweetest hopes.

As though the light were music with an ear

Among the hearts, singing to them and bathing them in daylight.

It is spring: when its northerly breezes blow,

It shakes the earth, its near reaches and its far.

A lovely season from radiant gardens,

In which nature reveals all that lies within it.

As though its days, while magic sets them free,

Were dreams of a beautiful woman that roamed through her nights.

As though the light above the grass were her stage,

And the flowers her flocks, fluttering upon her mouth.

It visited the fields and revived every growing thing,

So the earth preened in its most splendid finery.

And poured into the flowers perfumes whose fragrance they exhale,

And taught the birds melodies they sing.

So the air is a surging sea of melodies,

Enveloping the gardens until it almost floods them.

And the whispering wind drifts on, distraught with love,

Lamenting a love that wore it down throughout the season.

As though it were, faint within the folds of light,

A lover's lament that longing almost extinguishes.

And you would think the blossom, while dewdrops make it smile,

A flatterer, with their pearls gleaming within it.

They captivate you with beauty; but if you stoop to pluck them,

The sun stretches its hands toward them to hide them.

And the oranges are gilded bells,

The bees ring them, and the wind echoes them.

Answering the song of a brook whose water flows smoothly,

It flows over pearly pebbles, wearing them smooth.

In a garden whose birds sang out, and radiant grew

Its flowers when its morning showers drenched it.

From its lights it evokes images before the eye,

Varied scenes upon the earth that it conjures.

They were imprinted in it; so if it rested its rays

On an empty expanse, they would show it enchantment there.

So rise with us to behold spring's light over al-

Sinbillawin, and let us frolic in its outskirts.

And let us release the soul to soar toward its enchanter,

Unburdened, having cast off its wishes.

For so often they tormented it with their coyness,

And so often exhausted it with their unjust treatment.

And that, if you knew, is the finest passage

To the radiant stars, guiding us by their brilliance.
