فلا خير في الفتيان بعد ابن عبدل

فلا خير في الفتيان بعد ابن عبدل

ولا في الزواني بعد أم رياح

ولا في الزواني بعد أم رياح

There is no worth among young men after Ibn ʿAbdal,

So there is no good in the young men after Ibn ʿAbdal,

So there is no good in young men after Ibn ʿAbdal,

nor among loose women after Umm Riyāḥ.

nor any in the whores after Umm Riyāḥ:

Nor in prostitutes after Umm Riyah.

فأ بحمد الله ماض مجرب

فأ بحمد الله ماض مجرب

وأم رياح عرضه لنكاح

وأم رياح عرضه لنكاح

So [أ...]—thanks be to God—is keen and proven,

for I — praise be to God — am a keen blade, well-tried,

For [I], praise be to God, am resolute and seasoned,

and Umm Riyāḥ is apparently available for coupling.

and Umm Riyāḥ lies open, a ready mark for coupling.

And Umm Riyah is [available] for intercourse.
