أنَّthat الَّذِيthe One who خَلَقَcreated الأرزاقَsustenance يَرزُقُهُprovides for him
How happy is the mind of one who passes the evening confident
I am happiest with the state of one who retires confident
that He who created sustenance will provide for him.
That He who created livelihoods will provide for him.
فَالعِرضُso the honor مِنهُof him مَصُونٌprotected لاnot يُدَنِّسُهُhe sullies it
وَالوَجهُand the face مِنهُof him جَديدٌfresh لَيسَdoes not يُخلقهُhe wears it out
So his honor is protected—he does not sully it,
So his virtue remains safe, unstained,
and his face is fresh—he does not wear it out.
And his face refreshed - no troubles crease it.
إنَّindeed القَنَاعَةَcontentment مَنwhoever يحللdwells بِسَاحَتِهَاin its courtyard
لَمhas not يَلقَencountered فيin دَهرِهِhis lifetime شَيئاًanything يُؤرقهُkeeps him sleepless
Indeed, whoever dwells in contentment's courtyard
Truly, he who makes do with what contentment offers
has never encountered in his lifetime anything that keeps him sleepless.
Will never find anything in life to trouble him.
