تَجَنَّبْavoid أَحادِيثَtalk الحَسُودِthe envious man فواجِبُfor it is obligatory
تَجَنَّبْ أَحادِيثَ الحَسُودِ فواجِبُ
تَجَنُّبُهُavoiding him فِيماin what يَقُولُhe says وَيَفْعَلُand he does
تَجَنُّبُهُ فِيما يَقُولُ وَيَفْعَلُ
Avoid the envious man's talk, for it is a duty
Avoid the talk of the envious, for it's a duty
To shun him in what he says and does.
To avoid him in what he says and does
وَكُلُّand every حَسُودٍenvious man ماnot عَدَتْهُpassed him by مَلامَةٌreproach
وَكُلُّ حَسُودٍ ما عَدَتْهُ مَلامَةٌ
وَكُلُّand every لَئِيمٍbase man ماnot عَلَيْهِon him مُعَوَّلُreliance
وَكُلُّ لَئِيمٍ ما عَلَيْهِ مُعَوَّلُ
And no envious man is spared reproach;
Every envious person blames without cause
And no base man can be relied upon.
And every vile person is not to be relied upon
مَتَىwhenever قالhe said عَنِّيabout me السُّوءَill عِنْدَكَin your presence إنَّهُindeed he
مَتَى قال عَنِّي السُّوءَ عِنْدَكَ إنَّهُ
كذَاكَlikewise يَقُولُhe says السُّوءَill عَنْكَabout you وَيَنْقُلُand he passes it on
كذَاكَ يَقُولُ السُّوءَ عَنْكَ وَيَنْقُلُ
Whenever he speaks ill of me in your presence, he surely
When he speaks ill of me to you, he
Likewise speaks ill of you and passes it on.
Speaks ill of you and transmits in the same way
