انْظُرْLook بِحَمْدِwith praise to اللهِGod فِيinto
انْظُرْ بِحَمْدِ اللهِ فِي
عَيْنَيْهِhis two eyes سِرَّاًa secret أَيَّwhat a سِرِsecret
عَيْنَيْهِ سِرَّاً أَيَّ سِرِ
Look, with praise to God, into
Look with praise to Allah in
his two eyes: a secret—what a secret!
His eyes what secret, what mystery
طَمَسَhe blotted out الْيَمِينَthe right eye بِكَوْكَبٍwith a star
طَمَسَ الْيَمِينَ بِكَوْكَبٍ
وسَيَطْمُسُand he will blot out اليُسْرَىthe left eye بَفَجْرِwith dawn
وسَيَطْمُسُ اليُسْرَى بَفَجْرِ
He blotted out the right eye with a star,
The right has been erased by a star
and will blot out the left with dawn.
And the left will be erased by the dawn
