Oh, how sweet our night in the company of a graceful maiden,

beautiful, tender in youth, with budding breasts.

She bent her fingertips to beat her tambourine,

so I knocked at doors of rapture.

And I marveled when, in the gloom of night, I saw

a sun striking the full moon with jujubes.

She felt her cheek and her jet-black temple-lock [wording unclear],

like the full moon wrapped in a raven’s feathers.
