فديْتكَ جارَ عليَّ الفِراقْ

وحمّلني العِشقُ ما لا يُطاقْ

May I be your ransom! Separation has been cruel to me.

I ransom you, neighbor, although separation weighs heavily upon me,

And love has burdened me with what cannot be borne.

وأحرقتَ قلبي وقد كنتَ فيهِ

وأحرقتَ قلبي وقد كنتَ فيهِ

فكيفَ سلمتَ من الإحتراق

فكيفَ سلمتَ من الإحتراق

And you set my heart ablaze while you were within it.

You set my heart aflame though you were within it,

How, then, did you escape being burned?

How then did you escape from being consumed?
