كم راكبٍ لم يترجّلْ ماشياً
وعقلُهwhile his mind دونَbelow عقولِthe minds of الماشَيهcattle
وعقلُه دونَ عقولِ الماشَيه
How many a rider has never dismounted to walk,
Many a rider has never dismounted to walk,
yet his mind ranks below the wits of cattle on the hoof.
though his mind is beneath the minds of cattle.
تُعجبُهُdelights him غاشيةٌa saddlecloth يَحملُهاcarries it
تُعجبُهُ غاشيةٌ يَحملُها
أمامَهُbefore him فيin السُّوقِthe market بعضُsome of الحاشيَهْthe retinue
أمامَهُ في السُّوقِ بعضُ الحاشيَهْ
He delights in a canopy, borne
A saddlecloth delights him, carried
before him through the marketplace by some of his retinue.
