ولقدْ جذبتُ إليَّ عقربَ صُدغِها

ولقدْ جذبتُ إليَّ عقربَ صُدغِها

فوجدتُها جَرّارةً مَجْرورَهْ

فوجدتُها جَرّارةً مَجْرورَهْ

And indeed I drew toward me the scorpion of her temple,

I drew close a scorpion, stinger poised,

and found it a tail-dragger, itself dragged along.

And found it dragging and being dragged.

وكشفتُ ليلةَ وصلِها عن ساقِها

وكشفتُ ليلةَ وصلِها عن ساقِها

فرأيتُها مِمْكارةً مَمْكورَهْ

فرأيتُها مِمْكارةً مَمْكورَهْ

And on the night of union with her, I uncovered her leg,

I unveiled the night it came to couple

and saw it beguiling and shapely.

And saw it sly and being outwitted.
