وخَريدةٍand a maiden تكسَىis clothed in الجمالَbeauty لباساas a garment
وخَريدةٍ تكسَى الجمالَ لباسا
قاسىsuffered الفؤادthe heart بحُبِّهاfor love of her ماwhat قاسىsuffered
قاسى الفؤاد بحُبِّها ما قاسى
And a maiden clothed in beauty as a garment—
In a sleeveless robe, the beauty adorns the camels,
The heart suffered what it suffered for love of her.
My heart endured what it endured out of love for her.
جُنّتْwent mad خلاخلُهاher anklets بنغمةِat the melody of ساقِهاher leg
جُنّتْ خلاخلُها بنغمةِ ساقِها
ولذاكand for that reason سُمِّيَwas called جَرسُهاtheir jingling وَسْواساwhispering
ولذاك سُمِّيَ جَرسُها وَسْواسا
Her anklets went mad at the melody of her leg,
The tinkling of her anklets makes a charming sound,
And so their jingling was called “whispering.”
That is why her anklet is called 'waswas' (whisper).
