قضى نَحبَهُ الشاشيُّ نصرٌ وحكمهُ

قضى نَحبَهُ الشاشيُّ نصرٌ وحكمهُ

وحاجةُ طُلاّبِ الغنِي بعطَائهَ

وحاجةُ طُلاّبِ الغنِي بعطَائهَ

Nasr al-Shashi met his end and delivered his judgment,

The grief of Shashi has passed, victory and his rule

and met the need of those seeking wealth through his bounty.

And the need of the wealthy for his generosity

فها هُوَ قاضٍ ذو ثلاثةِ أوجُهٍ

فها هُوَ قاضٍ ذو ثلاثةِ أوجُهٍ

ولم يكُ ذا الوَجهينِ يومَ قَضَائهِ

ولم يكُ ذا الوَجهينِ يومَ قَضَائهِ

So here he is, a judge with three faces,

So here he is, a judge of three facets

though he was not two-faced when passing judgment.

And never was one of two faces in his jurisdiction
