سَنَسألُwe shall ask رَيحانَbasil الصدورِthe bosoms عَلَيكُمُabout you (plural)
سَنَسألُ رَيحانَ الصدورِ عَلَيكُمُ
وَنَلقاهُand we shall meet it بَعدَafter الفَجرِthe dawn رأيَseeing عيانwith one's own eyes
وَنَلقاهُ بَعدَ الفَجرِ رأيَ عيان
We shall ask the basil of the bosoms about you,
We shall ask the fragrant breeze about you
and meet it after dawn, with our own eyes.
And meet it after dawn has eyes to see
فَإِنso if بَحّgrows hoarse فيin الكِتمانِsecrecy فَهوَthen it is إِلَيكُمto you (plural)
فَإِن بَحّ في الكِتمانِ فَهوَ إِلَيكُم
وَإِنand if باحَspeaks openly بِالنَجوىof the confidential talk فَسَوفَthen will تَرانيyou see me
وَإِن باحَ بِالنَجوى فَسَوفَ تَراني
So if it grows hoarse in secrecy, then it is for you;
If it keeps it secret, then to you it goes
and if it speaks openly of the confidential talk, then you will see me.
And if it whispers, you will look on me
