هوَhe السَلسَبيلSalsabil, sweet-flowing water العَذبُsweet مَهماhowever سَطاassails الحرّthe heat
هوَ السَلسَبيل العَذبُ مَهما سَطا الحرّ
كَسَلسالِlike the sweet flow of ثَغرٍa mouth عَنaway from لآليهِits pearls يَفتَرparts in a smile
كَسَلسالِ ثَغرٍ عَن لآليهِ يَفتَر
He is sweet Salsabil, however fiercely the heat assails,
He is the sweet flowing spring, no matter how hot the weather grows
Like the sweet flow of a mouth that parts to reveal its pearls.
Like a chain of lips continuously talking of its beauty
هوَhe الأَوحَدُthe peerless one الباشاthe Pasha المُنَعَّمُrichly favored أَحمَدٌAhmad
هوَ الأَوحَدُ الباشا المُنَعَّمُ أَحمَدٌ
مُشيرُcounsellor of البَراياhumankind الأَنجَدُthe most valiant الأَمجَدُthe most glorious الصَدرُthe foremost chief
مُشيرُ البَرايا الأَنجَدُ الأَمجَدُ الصَدرُ
He is the peerless, richly favored Pasha Ahmad,
He is the unique Pasha, the blessed Ahmed
Counsellor of humankind, the most valiant, most glorious chief.
The counselor of the righteous, the most glorious and great in chest
بِهِthrough him فازَwon خَيرُKhayr (goodness) الدينِal-Din (the faith) بالأجرwith reward وَالثَناand praise
بِهِ فازَ خَيرُ الدينِ بالأجر وَالثَنا
أَخوpossessor of المأثُراتِnoble deeds الشَفعpaired وَالسؤدَدِand eminence الوِترِsingular
أَخو المأثُراتِ الشَفع وَالسؤدَدِ الوِترِ
Through him, Khayr al-Din won reward and praise,
Through him the best of faith has won reward and praise
A man of noble deeds in pairs and of singular eminence,
Brother of glorious deeds, mediator and even-numbered prose
وَأَوحَدُand the peerless one قواتِpowers المَقاماتranks عِندَin the eyes of مَنone who
وَأَوحَدُ قواتِ المَقامات عِندَ مَن
لِدَولَتِهِfor his reign عزّhonor مَضىwent قَبلَهاbefore it الفَخرُglory
لِدَولَتِهِ عزّ مَضى قَبلَها الفَخرُ
And peerless among the powers of high station, in the eyes of one
And unique among the forces of positions with one
Whose reign has honor; glory went before it.
Whose state glory passed, before it arrived, took pride
فَجازاهُso may He reward him رَبّthe Lord of العَرشِthe Throne خَيرَthe best of جَزائِهِHis recompense
فَجازاهُ رَبّ العَرشِ خَيرَ جَزائِهِ
شَراباًa drink طَهوراًpurifying حَسبَماaccording to what وَرَدَwas stated الذكرُthe Revelation
شَراباً طَهوراً حَسبَما وَرَدَ الذكرُ
So may the Lord of the Throne grant him His finest reward:
So the Lord of the Throne rewarded him the best reward
A purifying drink, as the Revelation has proclaimed.
A pure drink, as mentioned and recorded
وَقابَلَand may He meet رَبّthe Lord of العَرشِthe Throne بالشُكرِwith gratitude سَعيَهُhis striving
وَقابَلَ رَبّ العَرشِ بالشُكرِ سَعيَهُ
وَدامَand may he remain قَريرَserene العَينِof eye ماas long as بَقيَendures الدَهرُtime
وَدامَ قَريرَ العَينِ ما بَقيَ الدَهرُ
And may the Lord of the Throne meet his striving with gratitude,
And he met the Lord of the Throne with thanks for his efforts
And may he remain serene of eye as long as time endures.
And the delight of his eye remained as long as time continued
وَبَشِّرهُand give him glad tidings حَقاًtruly بِالقُبولِof acceptance وَهَنِّهِand congratulate him
وَبَشِّرهُ حَقاً بِالقُبولِ وَهَنِّهِ
فَقَدfor indeed جاءَhas come فيin تاريخِهِhis chronogram طَيِّهُits folds البِشرُglad tidings
فَقَد جاءَ في تاريخِهِ طَيِّهُ البِشرُ
And truly give him glad tidings of acceptance, and congratulate him;
And give him good tidings, truly of acceptance, and congratulate him
For glad tidings have come within the folds of his chronogram.
For in his history came the giver of glad tidings
