المَجدُ عوفي إِذ عوفيتَ وَالكَرَمُ

المَجدُ عوفي إِذ عوفيتَ وَالكَرَمُ

وَالمَجدُ وَالدستُ وَالتَوقيعُ وَالقَلَمُ

وَالمَجدُ وَالدستُ وَالتَوقيعُ وَالقَلَمُ

Glory was healed when you were healed, and so was generosity,

Glory is restored when you are restored, and generosity,

And glory, the seat of office, the signature, and the pen.

Glory, authority, signature and pen,

وَسِرُّ كُل بِما أُوتيتَ مِن فَرَجٍ

وَسِرُّ كُل بِما أُوتيتَ مِن فَرَجٍ

وَزالَ عَنكَ إِلى أَعدائِكَ الأَلَمُ

وَزالَ عَنكَ إِلى أَعدائِكَ الأَلَمُ

And all rejoiced at the relief you were granted,

And the secret of all you were given of relief,

And pain passed from you to your enemies.

And pain has gone from you to your enemies.

صَحَّت بِصِحَّتِكَ الأَحوالُ وَاِبتَهَجَت

صَحَّت بِصِحَّتِكَ الأَحوالُ وَاِبتَهَجَت

بِكَ الوِزارَةُ وَاِهتَزَّت لَكَ الهِمَمُ

بِكَ الوِزارَةُ وَاِهتَزَّت لَكَ الهِمَمُ

Affairs were set right by your recovery, and joy arose

The conditions became healthy with your health and

In the ministry through you; aspirations stirred for you.

The ministry rejoiced and the ambitions shook for you.

وَعادَها عيدُ أُنسٍ مِنكَ وَاِتَّصَلَت

وَعادَها عيدُ أُنسٍ مِنكَ وَاِتَّصَلَت

بِها المَكارِمُ وَاِنهَلَّت بِها الديمُ

بِها المَكارِمُ وَاِنهَلَّت بِها الديمُ

A festival of joy from you revisited it, and joined

And it regained a feast of intimacy from you and virtues connected with it

To it were noble deeds, while steady rains poured upon it.

And the rains poured on it.

وَراجَعَ الشَمسَ نورٌ كانَ فارَقَها

وَراجَعَ الشَمسَ نورٌ كانَ فارَقَها

لَمّا أَطافَت بِكَ الأَلطافُ وَالنِعَمُ

لَمّا أَطافَت بِكَ الأَلطافُ وَالنِعَمُ

And the light that had left the sun returned to it,

A light that had left the sun returned to it

When gracious favors and blessings surrounded you.

When favors and blessings revolved around you.

وَعادَ لِلبَدرِ نورٌ حَفّ هالَتَهُ

وَعادَ لِلبَدرِ نورٌ حَفّ هالَتَهُ

كَأَنَّما فَقدُهُ في جِسمِهِ سَقَمُ

كَأَنَّما فَقدُهُ في جِسمِهِ سَقَمُ

And light returned to the full moon, encircling its halo,

The moon regained a light that had made it disappear

As though losing that light were a sickness in its body.

As if its loss in its body was a disease.

وَلاحَ بَرقُكَ لي مِن عارضَي عَلَمٍ

وَلاحَ بَرقُكَ لي مِن عارضَي عَلَمٍ

وَأَنتَ وَاللَه ذاكَ المُفرَدُ العَلَمُ

وَأَنتَ وَاللَه ذاكَ المُفرَدُ العَلَمُ

And your lightning flashed before me from a mountain's two cloudbanks,

Your lightning flashed to me from the flank of a flag,

And you, by God, are that peerless, eminent figure.

And by God you are that unique flag.

ما يَنزِلُ الوَبلُ إِلّا عِندَ مَنطقه

ما يَنزِلُ الوَبلُ إِلّا عِندَ مَنطقه

ما يَسقُطُ الغَيثُ إِلّا حينَ يَبتَسِمُ

ما يَسقُطُ الغَيثُ إِلّا حينَ يَبتَسِمُ

The downpour descends only when he speaks;

Dew does not fall except at its place of descent,

The rain falls only when he smiles.

Rain does not pour except when it smiles.

يُسمى بِخَيرٍ لدينٍ أَو لِمَملَكَةٍ

يُسمى بِخَيرٍ لدينٍ أَو لِمَملَكَةٍ

أَبداهُ مالِكُها فاِنجابَتِ الظلمُ

أَبداهُ مالِكُها فاِنجابَتِ الظلمُ

He is named Khayr, a boon to religion or to a kingdom;

He who is called good for religion or kingdom

Its sovereign brought him forth, and the darkness dispersed.

Its owner initiated so injustice responded.

ذاكَ المُشيرُ الَّذي لا نِدَّ يُشبِهُهُ

ذاكَ المُشيرُ الَّذي لا نِدَّ يُشبِهُهُ

وَكَيفَ يَشتَبِهُ المَخدومُ وَالخَدَمُ

وَكَيفَ يَشتَبِهُ المَخدومُ وَالخَدَمُ

That is the Mushir, whom no peer resembles;

That advisor whom no equal resembles him

And how could the master and the servants be alike?

How can the served one resemble the servants?

تَفنَّنَ الكُلّ في تَفضيلِ غُرَّتِهِ

تَفنَّنَ الكُلّ في تَفضيلِ غُرَّتِهِ

وَزيدَ مِن بَعضِهِم في ذَلِكَ النَغَمُ

وَزيدَ مِن بَعضِهِم في ذَلِكَ النَغَمُ

All displayed their artistry in extolling his radiant brow,

All were varied in extolling his virtue

And some of them added melody to that praise.

And some of them increased in that tune.

تَساهَموا كَيفَ شاؤوا في مَحاسِنِهِ

تَساهَموا كَيفَ شاؤوا في مَحاسِنِهِ

وَشارَكَ العُربَ في فَخرٍ بِهِ العجمُ

وَشارَكَ العُربَ في فَخرٍ بِهِ العجمُ

They took their shares in his merits however they wished,

They shared however they wished in his virtues

And non-Arabs joined the Arabs in taking pride in him.

And the non-Arabs shared the Arabs in boasting through him.

وَأخلصَ اللَهُ للإِسلام نُصرَتُهُ

وَأخلصَ اللَهُ للإِسلام نُصرَتُهُ

وَلِلمُشيرِ إِذا ما أُخفرَت ذِمَم

وَلِلمُشيرِ إِذا ما أُخفرَت ذِمَم

And God has devoted his support to Islam,

And God made his support sincere to Islam

And to the Mushir whenever covenants are violated,

And to the advisor when covenants are violated.

لِكَي نَرى كُلّ ما كُنّا نُؤَمِّلُهُ

لِكَي نَرى كُلّ ما كُنّا نُؤَمِّلُهُ

وَإِن تَقَلَّبَ في آلائِهِ الأُمَمُ

وَإِن تَقَلَّبَ في آلائِهِ الأُمَمُ

So that we may see all that we had hoped for,

So we see all that we were hoping for

Even if nations bask in his bounties.

Even if days alternate among the nations.

وَما أَخُصّكَ في بُرءٍ بِتَهنِئَةٍ

وَما أَخُصّكَ في بُرءٍ بِتَهنِئَةٍ

قَد سُرّ مِنها الوَرى وَالسَهلُ وَالعَلَمُ

قَد سُرّ مِنها الوَرى وَالسَهلُ وَالعَلَمُ

And I do not single you out with congratulations on recovery:

I do not distinguish you in innocence with congratulations

All people, the plain, and the mountain have rejoiced at it.

The land, plains and flags have rejoiced in it.

إِذا سُعِدتَ فَكُلّ الناسِ قَد سُعِدوا

إِذا سُعِدتَ فَكُلّ الناسِ قَد سُعِدوا

وَإِن سَلِمتَ فَكُلّ الناسِ قَد سَلِموا

وَإِن سَلِمتَ فَكُلّ الناسِ قَد سَلِموا

When you are happy, all people are happy;

When you are fortunate then all people have been fortunate

And if you are safe, all people are safe.

And when you are safe then all people are safe.
