هَذاthis مُقامٌa shrine عَظيمُgreat القَدرesteem فاسعَso hasten وَطُفand circumambulate
هَذا مُقامٌ عَظيمُ القَدر فاسعَ وَطُف
وَلُذand seek refuge بِأَبوابهat its doors واِسأَلand ask هُناكَthere وَقِفand stand
وَلُذ بِأَبوابه واِسأَل هُناكَ وَقِف
This is a shrine of great esteem: hasten and circle it.
And seek refuge at its doors; ask there and stand.
هَذاthis مَقامُthe shrine of المُربيthe spiritual guide وَالإِمامُand the imam وَمنand one who
هَذا مَقامُ المُربي وَالإِمامُ وَمن
قَدhas حازَattained بالعلمthrough knowledge وَالتَعليمand teaching كُلّevery شرَفٌhonor
قَد حازَ بالعلم وَالتَعليم كُلّ شرَفٌ
This is the shrine of the spiritual guide, the imam, and one
Who has won every honor through knowledge and teaching.
هَذاthis مَقامُthe shrine of ابنa descendant of ثانيthe second of اثنَينtwo ثالثُهُمtheir third
هَذا مَقامُ ابن ثاني اثنَين ثالثُهُم
فيin يَومthe day of غارthe cave of حِراHira مَنHe who قَدhas قَضىdecreed وَلطفand showed grace
في يَوم غار حِرا مَن قَد قَضى وَلطف
This is the shrine of a descendant of the second of two, whose third
On the day in Hira's cave was He who decreed and showed grace.
أُستاذُthe master of تونِسَTunis وَالحِصنُand the fortress الحَصينُimpregnable بِهاwithin it
أُستاذُ تونِسَ وَالحِصنُ الحَصينُ بِها
وَمنand one whose تصَرّفُهُhis influence فيin الحالَتَينboth states عُرفis known
وَمن تصَرّفُهُ في الحالَتَين عُرف
The master of Tunis and the impregnable fortress within it,
And one whose influence in both states is known.
وَالسرّand the secret فيin ذاكَthat مِنfrom سَدِّsealing الكوىthe openings لسوىto anyone but
وَالسرّ في ذاكَ مِن سَدِّ الكوى لسوى
صَديقهhis friend فَعَلىso according to ماwhat كانَit was مُنذُsince أُلِفwas familiar
صَديقه فَعَلى ما كانَ مُنذُ أُلِف
And the secret of that lies in sealing the openings to all but
His friend; thus it remains as it has been since first known.
فَلُذso seek refuge بأعتابهat his thresholds وَاِشدُدand tighten يَدَيكَyour two hands بِهِto him
فَلُذ بأعتابه وَاِشدُد يَدَيكَ بِهِ
وَناجهand commune with him فَهوَfor he حيّalive آخِذٌholding بِطَرفby an end
وَناجه فَهوَ حيّ آخِذٌ بِطَرف
So seek refuge at his thresholds and hold fast to him with both hands.
And commune with him: he is alive, grasping a strand
مِنfrom جَدِّهُhis forefather بِرَسولto the Messenger of اللَهGod مُتَّصِلٌconnected
مِن جَدِّهُ بِرَسول اللَه مُتَّصِلٌ
لِلَّهِto God مَجدٌglory عَلىthrough مَرِّthe passing of الزَمانtime يَرِفflutters
لِلَّهِ مَجدٌ عَلى مَرِّ الزَمان يَرِف
From his forefather, linked to the Messenger of God.
God's is a glory that flutters through the passing ages.
وَاِجعلَهُand make him عُمدَتكَyour support الوُثقىthe surest وَسلهُand ask him تَنَلyou will attain
وَاِجعلَهُ عُمدَتكَ الوُثقى وَسلهُ تَنَل
وَاِطلُبهand seek him تَحظَyou will find favor كَماas قَدhas شاعَbecome widespread ذاthis وَأُلِفand become familiar
وَاِطلُبه تَحظَ كَما قَد شاعَ ذا وَأُلِف
And make him your surest support; ask him, and you will receive.
And seek him to find favor, as this has become widespread and familiar.
كالسَيِّدlike the lord الصادِقal-Sadiq الباشاthe Pasha المُشيرthe Marshal وَمَنand one who
كالسَيِّد الصادِق الباشا المُشير وَمَن
بِالعَدلِfor justice وَالفَضلand virtue وَالذكرand renown الجَميلgood وَصِفwas described
بِالعَدلِ وَالفَضل وَالذكر الجَميل وَصِف
Like Sayyid al-Sadiq, the Pasha and Marshal, who
Was renowned for justice, virtue, and good repute.
سَليلِa scion of آلthe house of حُسَينٍHusayn وَهوَand he واسطةٌthe central jewel
سَليلِ آل حُسَينٍ وَهوَ واسطةٌ
لعقدof a necklace درpearls أَتىcame مِنهُمfrom them بِغَيرwithout صَدَفshells
لعقد در أَتى مِنهُم بِغَير صَدَف
A scion of the house of Husayn, and the central jewel
Of a pearl necklace, sprung from them without shells.
قَدhas شادَbuilt ماwhat قَدmay تَرىyou see مِنof بَهجَةٍsplendor وَأَتىand came
قَد شادَ ما قَد تَرى مِن بَهجَةٍ وَأَتى
مِنfrom بابهits doorway الحُسنُbeauty وَالإِحسانُand beneficence حينَwhen رُصِفit was paved
مِن بابه الحُسنُ وَالإِحسانُ حينَ رُصِف
He built the splendor you may see, and there came
From its doorway beauty and beneficence when it was paved.
وَأَثبَتَand fixed الرأيةَthe banner العُلياlofty بقنَّتهat its summit
وَأَثبَتَ الرأيةَ العُليا بقنَّته
تَختالُit sways proudly فيin شَرَفٍhonor تَسموit rises بِهِthrough it وَهيفand slenderness
تَختالُ في شَرَفٍ تَسمو بِهِ وَهيف
And he fixed the lofty banner upon its summit.
It sways proudly in honor, rising with it in slender grace.
فاِجعَلهُso place him فيin حَرزِهِhis protection ياO رَبّLord واِهدand bestow لَهُon him
فاِجعَلهُ في حَرزِهِ يا رَبّ واِهد لَهُ
مِنfrom سِرِّهِhis secret ماwhat يَشاhe wishes مِنof أَنعُمٍblessings وَلطفand grace
مِن سِرِّهِ ما يَشا مِن أَنعُمٍ وَلطف
So place him under his protection, O Lord, and grant him
From his secret whatever he wishes of blessings and grace.
وَاسعدand make happy بِهِthrough him اللَهُO God هَذاthis القُطرَthe land قاطِبَةًentirely
وَاسعد بِهِ اللَهُ هَذا القُطرَ قاطِبَةً
ياO خَيرَbest مَولىًmaster عَلىtoward ذُلّthe lowliness of العَبيدthe servants عَطفshowed compassion
يا خَيرَ مَولىً عَلى ذُلّ العَبيد عَطف
And through him, O God, make this whole land happy,
O best of masters, who has shown compassion toward the servants' lowliness.
وَذيand this كَرامتهُhis miraculous favor لاحَتappeared بَشائِرُهاits glad signs
وَذي كَرامتهُ لاحَت بَشائِرُها
وَجاءَand came تاريخُهاits chronogram أَكرَمhonored مُحرزَMuhriz بنson of خلفKhalaf
وَجاءَ تاريخُها أَكرَم مُحرزَ بن خلف
And this is his miraculous favor, whose glad signs have appeared;
And its chronogram reads: 'He honored Muhriz ibn Khalaf.'
