هَنيئاً بِالبُحَيرَةِ وَهيَ بَدءٌ

هَنيئاً بِالبُحَيرَةِ وَهيَ بَدءٌ

لِكُلِّ مَقامِ عزّ فيهِ خيرَه

لِكُلِّ مَقامِ عزّ فيهِ خيرَه

Congratulations on the lake—it is a beginning;

May you delight in the lake, for it is a beginning

every station has its glory, wherein lies its good.

For every station of honor in which its goodness lies.

وَكُلّ مُسافِرٍ لِطلابِ مَجدٍ

وَكُلّ مُسافِرٍ لِطلابِ مَجدٍ

فَأَوَّلُ ما يُقَدِّمُهُ البحيرة

فَأَوَّلُ ما يُقَدِّمُهُ البحيرة

And every traveler in quest of glory—

And every traveler in pursuit of glory—

the first thing he presents is the lake.

The lake is the first thing to bring him forward.
