نِظامُكَ أَيُّها العَلَمُ السُنوسي

نِظامُكَ أَيُّها العَلَمُ السُنوسي

بِفَضلِ الآلِ تاجٌ لِلرؤُوسِ

بِفَضلِ الآلِ تاجٌ لِلرؤُوسِ

Your verse, O eminent al-Sanusi,

O system of yours, O Sanusi flag

Through the family's merit, is a crown for heads.

With the family, a crown for the heads

يَفوقُ وَحَقِّكُم عِقدَ اللآلي

يَفوقُ وَحَقِّكُم عِقدَ اللآلي

وَيَعلو الجيد ينشد بِالنُفوس

وَيَعلو الجيد ينشد بِالنُفوس

It surpasses, by your honor, a necklace of pearls,

It surpasses your right and necklace of pearls

And adorns the neck, recited by souls.

And the excellence rises, yearned for by the souls

فَقَد أَبدَعتَ إِذ أَودَعتَ فيهِ

فَقَد أَبدَعتَ إِذ أَودَعتَ فيهِ

مَفاخِرَ لِلفُروع وَللأسوسِ

مَفاخِرَ لِلفُروع وَللأسوسِ

For you excelled when you placed within it

You have excelled when you entrusted in it

Glories for the branches and the foundations.

Pride for the branches and the foundations

وَصرتَ رَفيقَ حَسّانٍ وَكَعبٍ

وَصرتَ رَفيقَ حَسّانٍ وَكَعبٍ

وَغَيرِهِما بِذا العِلقِ النَفيسِ

وَغَيرِهِما بِذا العِلقِ النَفيسِ

And you became a companion of Hassan and Ka'b,

And you became a companion to Hassân and Kaʿb

And others besides them, through this precious treasure.

And others with this precious chain

جَزاكَ اللَهُ أَحسَنَ ما يُجازي

جَزاكَ اللَهُ أَحسَنَ ما يُجازي

بِهِ مَن أَذكَرَ اللَذ قَد تُنوسي

بِهِ مَن أَذكَرَ اللَذ قَد تُنوسي

May God grant you the finest reward He gives

May Allah reward you the best reward

To one who recalls what has been forgotten.

For one who revived what had been forgotten
