أَياO سَيِّدَيtwo lords of نَجرانَNajran لاnot أوصِيَنكُماI shall counsel you both
بِنَجرانَconcerning Najran فيماin what نابَهاhas befallen her وَاِعتَراكُماand beset you both
O two lords of Najran, I need not counsel you both
O my lords of Najran, I do not advise you
concerning Najran, amid what has befallen her and beset you both.
Regarding Najran in what has afflicted it and tried you
فَإِنfor if تَفعَلاyou both do خَيراًgood وَتَرتَدِياand you both clothe yourselves بِهِin it
فَإِنَّكُماthen indeed you both أَهلٌworthy لِذاكَof that كِلاكُماboth of you
For if you both do good and clothe yourselves in it,
For if you do good and don it
then you are indeed worthy of that, both of you.
Then you are worthy of that, both of you
وَإِنand if تَكفِياyou both spare نَجرانَNajran أَمرَthe ordeal of عَظيمَةٍa great calamity
فَقَبلَكُماfor before you both ماindeed (emphatic particle) سادَهاruled her أَبَواكُماyour two fathers
And if you both spare Najran the ordeal of a great calamity,
And if you suffice Najran the matter of a great woman
for before you both, your two fathers indeed ruled her.
Then before you what your fathers have ruled
وَإِنand if أَجلَبَتmusters forces صِهيَونُZion يَوماًone day عَلَيكُماagainst you both
فَإِنَّthen indeed رَحىthe millstone of الحَربِwar الدَكوكِcrushing رِحاكُماyour millstone (you both)
And if Zion one day musters its forces against you both,
And if Zion brings upon you one day
then the millstone of crushing war is your millstone.
Then surely the millstones of grueling war will grind you
