يَلُجّا في الضَلالَةِ وَالخَسارِ
Whenever you tether a deaf man by a rope to a night-blind man,
Whenever you tether a deaf man to a night-blind man's rope,
the two plunge on into error and loss.
The two persist in error and ruin.
فَلَستُfor I am not بِمُبصِرٍseeing شَيئاًanything يَراهُhe sees it
فَلَستُ بِمُبصِرٍ شَيئاً يَراهُ
وَليسَand he is not بِسامِعٍhearing مِنّيfrom me حِواريmy speech
وَليسَ بِسامِعٍ مِنّي حِواري
For I cannot see a thing that he sees,
For I see nothing that he sees,
nor can he hear my words to him.
And he does not hear my speech.
