Indeed, a man revisited by memories

    of her—Mina’s three nights—is truly patient;

and her halts at the two sacred stations,

and the sights of the Jamarāt and the sacrifice,

and the riders streaming forth behind them,

like clouds shedding a fine rain,

until they touched the Corner at the beginning

of their night, treading in their waist-wraps.

They sit at intervals during the circling,

and sometimes circle at a languid pace.

Then they completed seven circuits; exhausted were

    their insides, their veils askew.
