فإن يغضبك قولي في عليّ

فإن يغضبك قولي في عليّ

وتمنع ما لديك من النوالِ

وتمنع ما لديك من النوالِ

So if my words about Ali anger you,

If my words in praise of Ali offend you,

and you withhold the bounty you possess,

And you deny me what I seek,

فإن محمداً منا وأنا

فإن محمداً منا وأنا

ذوو المجد المقدم والفعال

ذوو المجد المقدم والفعال

then Muhammad is one of us, and we

Then know that Muhammad is one of us, and I

are possessors of foremost glory and noble deeds.

Am of those whose glory comes first, whose deeds speak.

وإن لدى ابن عباس نوالاً

وإن لدى ابن عباس نوالاً

وما طالبت من صفدٍ ومال

وما طالبت من صفدٍ ومال

And Ibn Abbas has bounty,

With Ibn Abbas I find bounty enough,

and the gifts and wealth I have sought.

I seek no lordships or riches from you.

بنا دار العباد لكم فأمسوا

بنا دار العباد لكم فأمسوا

يسوسُهم الركيك من الرجال

يسوسُهم الركيك من الرجال

Through us, the people turned to you, and came to be

Our House was built for worship; yet you dwell in it,

governed by a weakling among men.

With the basest of men ruling over you.

كفاني ما نحلت به علياً

كفاني ما نحلت به علياً

فأفناني ولم يك ذا اعتلال

فأفناني ولم يك ذا اعتلال

What I bestowed on Ali sufficed me;

Enough for me are the gifts bestowed on Ali,

so he destroyed me, without making excuses.

Who enriched me beyond all measure.
