فلا تعتقد هما لفوت عطيّة

So harbor no worry over a missed gift.

So do not believe that life flies away

Your life is passing away, and livelihood is a gamble.

Or that livelihood depends on a throw of dice

إذا أجدبت أرض فدعها لأهلها

إذا أجدبت أرض فدعها لأهلها

ففي كل أرض للمحوّل دار

ففي كل أرض للمحوّل دار

If a land becomes barren, leave it to its people.

If the land lies barren, leave it be

For in every land there is a home for one who moves.
