من طالب الناس بالإنصاف أحقدهُم

من طالب الناس بالإنصاف أحقدهُم

ومن نحاهم إلى الآداب عابوه

ومن نحاهم إلى الآداب عابوه

Whoever demands fairness from people makes them resentful.

And whoever guides them toward good manners, they disparage him.

ومن دعاهم إلى فحش ومخزية

ومن دعاهم إلى فحش ومخزية

وسوء فل وتخليط أجابوه

وسوء فل وتخليط أجابوه

And whoever calls them to obscenity and disgrace,

And evil [deeds?] and disorder, they answer him.
