من كان يزعمُ أن الحبّ يتلفه

والصدّ يقلِقهُ والبين يسهره

Whoever claims that love destroys him,

Whoever claims that love destroys him

And rejection troubles him, and separation keeps him awake,

And separation disturbs him and distance keeps him awake

فليكسر الحب وليشرب براحته

فليكسر الحب وليشرب براحته

فالشرب بالحب يؤذيه ويبهره

فالشرب بالحب يؤذيه ويبهره

Let him break the jar and drink from his palm,

Then let him break off love and drink at his leisure

For drinking from the jar harms him and leaves him breathless.

For drinking with love hurts him and dazzles him

يكون في الجمع لا يركب مقاطعة

يكون في الجمع لا يركب مقاطعة

من كان في الجمع كل الناس يعذره

من كان في الجمع كل الناس يعذره

Let him be in company, not resort to breaking away;

He who socializes should not shun company

Whoever is in company, everyone excuses him.

Whoever socializes, people will excuse him
