Where is escape from death—where can I flee?
Where can I escape from death, where can I flee
Nowhere—she is a necklace around every neck.
No escape, for it adorns all necks like necklaces

It is the destination of man and source of its watering

Docile to the reins, obeying every handler,
With smooth reins obeying every rider
Unable to ward off what he will face.
Unable to deflect what fate has decreed
