When Ibn Jamil walks, I imagine us

tossed by an earthquake whenever he walks.

The earth tilts beneath him as he walks,

and his rear resembles his front.

And even if his palm held mustard seeds,

not one mustard seed would be lost from his palm.

And if the earth could speak,

it would say from the strain, "How heavy he is!"

His brother is small, but he

is, out of cleverness, more restless than a rattle.

And if this one is seen approaching,

the people wail at the way he walks.

And I find no fault with this jurist,

except his closeness to him when he made him a Hanbali.
