واليمينand the oath التيthat حلفتyou swore غرورdeceit

We know your words are all lies
And the oath you swore is deceit.
And the oaths you swore were but guile

مثلهlike him كنتI was ثمthen مثليlike me يصيرhe will become
Would that I knew whom you took in my place—
I wonder who came after me

ماnothing أراهI see it أغراكemboldened you بالهجرto abandonment إلاexcept
طولlength صبريmy patience وأنّنيand that I am مستورُdiscreet
Nothing, I think, emboldened you to abandon me except
I see naught made you shun me but
My long patience and the fact that I am discreet.
My patience long and my feelings veiled
