Some people hate death, lacking
Death is hated by the ignorant,
knowledge of what expounding [the proofs?] entails.
Who know not the knowledge that elucidates its necessity.
أنسواthey took comfort بالعيشin life والعيشand life الفناextinction
أنسوا بالعيش والعيش الفنا
يخرجgoes out الانسانthe human being منfrom حيثwhere ولجhe entered
يخرج الانسان من حيث ولج
They took comfort in life, though life is extinction.
Forgetful of life's transience,
Man goes out from where he entered.
One emerges from the same place one entered.
كرهواthey hated الفقرpoverty وفيand in الفقرpoverty الغنىwealth
كرهوا الفقر وفي الفقر الغنى
ثمthen خافواthey feared الموتdeath والموتand death الفرجrelief
ثم خافوا الموت والموت الفرج
They hated poverty, yet in poverty lies wealth.
They despised poverty, yet within it lies riches untold,
Then they feared death, yet death is relief.
Then feared death, though death grants deliverance.
