بين التوهّم والتشبيه عن فرَق
People became divided in approaching what they did not know,
People differ in approaching what they are ignorant of
between conjecture and likening, out of fear.
Between imagining and likening the distinction
وأغفلواand they neglected طلبَseeking المقصودthe object sought مطلبهُits place of seeking
وأغفلوا طلبَ المقصود مطلبهُ
بينbetween المحاجرthe eye sockets والأجفانِand the eyelids والحدَقand the pupils
بين المحاجر والأجفانِ والحدَق
And they neglected the quest for their goal, which is to be sought
And they neglected seeking what is sought
between the eye sockets, the eyelids, and the pupils.
