ياO منone who تأزّرput on a waistcloth فيin الحمامthe bathhouse مستتراconcealing himself
منfrom أعينeyes الناسthe people تحويهenfold him مآزرهhis waistcloths
O you who donned a waistcloth in the bathhouse, concealing yourself
O you who hid in the bathroom discreetly
from people's eyes, your waistcloths enfolding you,
From people's eyes, concealing your privates
وأمرحand let roam freely الطرفthe gaze فيمنover one who لاno إزارwaistcloth لهfor him
فصانso he guarded فرجاprivate parts ولمbut did not تسلمremain innocent مناظرهhis eyes
and let your gaze roam over one with no waistcloth—
Yet feast your eyes on those with no loincloth
you guarded your private parts, but your eyes did not remain innocent.
Who guard their private parts but not their looks
لمdid not يستترconceal himself منwhoever أباحallowed الطرفthe gaze فرجthe private parts of أخa brother
بلrather ليسis not مستتراconcealed منone whom لاnot تساترهyou shield him
Whoever lets his gaze fall on a brother's private parts has not concealed himself;
He who ogles a brother's privates uncovered
rather, one whom you do not shield is not concealed.
Is not discreet though he hides in secret nooks
فالفرجso the private parts تسترهyou cover it والعينand the eye تغمضهاyou close it
والقلبand the heart تحرسهyou guard it ممّاfrom what يخامرهpervades it
So cover your private parts and close your eyes,
Cover your privates and shut your prying eyes
and guard your heart against what creeps into it.
And guard your heart from evil thoughts it brooks
