إلهي إن تعذبني بذني

إلهي إن تعذبني بذني

فذنبي عندك الذنب العظيم

فذنبي عندك الذنب العظيم

My God, if You punish me for my sin,

My God, if You punish me for my sins

then my sin in Your sight is a grievous sin.

My sins to You are indeed great

وإن تعف فعن حلم وعلم

وإن تعف فعن حلم وعلم

تمُنّ ومنّك المنّ القديم

تمُنّ ومنّك المنّ القديم

And if You pardon, then out of forbearance and knowledge

And if You pardon, it is out of wisdom and knowledge

You bestow grace; Your grace is the grace of old.

Your favor and grace are ancient

وأنت بكلّ ما قد كان منّي

وأنت بكلّ ما قد كان منّي

وما هو كائن منّي عليمُ

وما هو كائن منّي عليمُ

And You, of all that has come from me,

You know all that I have done

and all that will come from me, are fully aware.

And all that I will do

وقلبي في يديك وأنت ربّي

وقلبي في يديك وأنت ربّي

بنورك نهتدي وبه تقوم

بنورك نهتدي وبه تقوم

And my heart is in Your hands, and You are my Lord.

My heart is in Your hands, and You are my Lord

By Your light we are guided, and by it You stand.

With Your light we are guided and by it we stand

فيسّر كلما يرضيك عنّي

فيسّر كلما يرضيك عنّي

فإنّك منعمٌ برٌّ رحيم

فإنّك منعمٌ برٌّ رحيم

So make easy all that wins me Your pleasure,

So make easy all that pleases You about me

for You are a giver of blessings, kind and merciful.

For You are bestowing, righteous, and merciful

وقوّمني تجدني مستقيما

وقوّمني تجدني مستقيما

بمنّك أستجيب وأستقيم

بمنّك أستجيب وأستقيم

And set me straight; You will find me upright.

And make me upright, You will find me steadfast

By Your grace I respond and walk upright.

By Your favor I answer the call and stand firm
