Indeed, affection takes three
Love has three aspects that appear
forms, as plain sight shows:
One is the cursed love between the sodomite and the prostitute
فمودّةso, an affection مذمومةblameworthy
فمودّة مذمومة
ماthat which is بينbetween لوطيّa sodomite وزانand a fornicator
ما بين لوطيّ وزان
one kind of affection is blameworthy,
Another is love for a place of comfort and help when needed
that between a sodomite and a fornicator;
And a love that is pure affection lost without destination
ومودّةand affection لمكانon account of إحkindness (first fragment)
ومودّة لمكان إح
سانkindness (final fragment) وعونand aid المستعانthe one whose help is sought
سان وعون المستعان
and affection for the sake of kindness
Whose shrine the heart desires and dedicates through time
and aid from one whose help is sought;
ومودةand affection محضpure الودlove (first fragment)
ومودة محض الود
ادlove (final fragment) وودّand a dear friend مفقودmissing المكانthe whereabouts
اد وودّ مفقود المكان
and affection that is pure love,
and a dear friend whose whereabouts are unknown:
يأبىhe refuses المزارvisits وقلبهُand his heart
يأبى المزار وقلبهُ
وقفpledged عليكto you معwith الزمانtime
وقف عليك مع الزمان
he refuses visits, yet his heart
is pledged to you for all time.
