إذا أن العليل لفرط داء
وأنand groaned طبيبهhis physician هلكperished العليلthe sick man
وأن طبيبه هلك العليل
If the sick man groans from the severity of an illness,
When the sick man from excess disease
And his physician groans, the sick man perishes.
And that his doctor perished the sick man
أراداthey both wanted بعدafter ذاكthat طبيبa physician صدقtruthfulness
أرادا بعد ذاك طبيب صدق
يدلّshows the way وربّماand perhaps تاهwent astray الدليلthe guide
يدلّ وربّما تاه الدليل
After that, they both wanted a trustworthy physician,
After that wanted a doctor integrity
To show the way—though the guide may go astray.
