إذا المرء لم يقنع بعيش فإنّه

إذا المرء لم يقنع بعيش فإنّه

وإن كان ذا مال من الفقر موقر

وإن كان ذا مال من الفقر موقر

If a man is not content with his livelihood, then he,

If a man is not satisfied with his lot

even if wealthy, is burdened with poverty.

Even though he is rich, he remains poor at heart

فإن يك فضل الناس يغنيك بينهم

فإن يك فضل الناس يغنيك بينهم

فأنت بفضل الله أغنى وأيسر

فأنت بفضل الله أغنى وأيسر

So if people's bounty enriches you among them,

If you have more than others, be kind to them

then through God's bounty you are richer and better off.

With God's grace, you are richer and at ease
