تمنّيت أني بشرب القنان

قديرٌ على كل حال ولا أخشى

صروف الليالي وشكوى الزمان

I were capable in every circumstance, and did not fear

Able in every state, fearing naught

The vicissitudes of the nights and the plaint of time.
