دع الدنيا فقد غدرت

دع الدنيا فقد غدرت

بأقوام بها وثقوا

بأقوام بها وثقوا

Forsake this world, for it has dealt treacherously

with people who put their trust in it;

وكانوا يجمعون لها

وكانوا يجمعون لها

كأنّهم لها خلقوا

كأنّهم لها خلقوا

and they would amass wealth for it,

as though they had been created for it.
