Devote your time to what matters to you.

And speak your mind openly in your troubles.

Do not be vexed by the insults of

one who disparages you, seeking your distress.

Nothing condemns you like your own

deeds; so refrain from earning reproach.

    All insults fade away from

you, and from your father and your uncle alike.

    It is, in truth, beyond

what you can taste or smell.

Like the wind, milked by its

blowing—so leave it to add to your worry.

    For worse than every insult

is your head emerging from your mother's vulva.
