The two Farqad stars both bore witness for him,

and the full moon, on the night of its fullness, to his sleeplessness.

Love-sick, when he drinks the darkness at dusk, there blazes

the fire of passion in his breast and heart.

Then his eyelid's tears stream down his cheek,

like running water in a torrent from its mountains,

out of longing for the one who wastes him—never have I seen such

yearning in one whose body is wasted by his absence.
