قالوا فطير اليهود وافى

قالوا فطير اليهود وافى

فلا فطير ولا خمير

They said, “The Jews’ Feast of Unleavened Bread has come.”

Yet there is neither unleavened bread nor leavened.

واشترك الناس في المراعي

And people shared the pastures—

for food was scarce—with the donkeys.
