أحقّ بسجن من لسان مذلّل
By your life, nothing I know of
By your life! Nothing is more deserving of imprisonment
Deserves imprisonment more than a pliant tongue.
Than a submissive tongue that speaks of matters unconcerned with you

بقعل وثيق حيث ما كنت فاقفل
Over your mouth, against matters that do not concern you,
Keep it locked, wherever you stand, with a tight muzzle
With a secure lock, wherever you are, lock it shut.
Lest it should babble about what does not concern you
