O You who impose on me the dullard's incapacity,
Home of my helpless confusion
though in me are the faculties of the astute;
Creator of the prophet's instruments
ومثبّتيand You who steady me منfrom بعدماafter
ومثبّتي من بعدما
زاغتhave gone astray لباناتdesires الفقيهthe jurist
زاغت لبانات الفقيه
and You who keep me steadfast after
Affirmer after the jurist's
the jurist's desires have gone astray;
Compasses have strayed
ياO خالقيmy Creator ياO رازقيmy Provider
يا خالقي يا رازقي
ياO حافظيmy Protector منfrom كلevery تيهbewilderment
يا حافظي من كل تيه
O my Creator, O my Provider,
My Creator, my Sustainer
O You who guard me from all bewilderment,
My Preserver from all confusion
ياO منعشيmy Reviver منfrom ظلمةdarkness
يا منعشي من ظلمة
الأحشاءthe body's inner organs مالكYou have no منany (emphatic) شبيهequal
الأحشاء مالك من شبيه
O You who revive me from the darkness
My Reviver from the darkness
of the body's depths—You have no equal.
