ولم أر كالكلام يقال سرّا

فتحمله إلى الأذن الرياح

فتحمله إلى الأذن الرياح

And I have seen nothing like speech uttered in secret,

Which the winds then carry to the ear.

فقل خيرا وإلا كن صموتاً

فقل خيرا وإلا كن صموتاً

سكوتا فاللام له جناح

سكوتا فاللام له جناح

So speak good, or else be silent—

Utterly silent—for the letter lām [as written] has a wing.
