كيف لا أعرض عم

مَن بيدي يقطعني

مَن بيدي يقطعني

How could I not turn away from

How can I not present who

one who cuts me off with my own hand?

With his hand cuts me

ولم تخوّفت من ال

ولم تخوّفت من ال

فقر ولي ربّ غني

فقر ولي ربّ غني

And why did I fear

And I did not fear poverty

poverty, when I have a rich Lord?

While my Lord is rich

والله لو عاملته

والله لو عاملته

بالضرّ ما ضيّعني

بالضرّ ما ضيّعني

By God, even if I treated Him

By Allah if I treated him

badly, He would not abandon me.

With harm he would not let me down

دنياي قد همت بها

دنياي قد همت بها

والزادُ منها كفني

والزادُ منها كفني

My world—I have fallen in love with it,

My worldly affairs have worried me

yet the provision from it is my shroud.

And my provision from it is my shroud
