فطاب لبس الخلق البالي
The governor’s oppression has become manifest,
Injustice has appeared from the governor,

So people happily donned tattered clothes.

وأظهر الإفلاس ذو المال
And people look favorably on denying their wealth,
And people approved the denial of wealth,

فليس من يبقى على حال
People have grown corrupt, and faithfulness has dwindled;
People are corrupt, and loyalty is scarce,

For in solitude you find comfort

From the shame of gossip and words.
