الحابal-ḥāb (unclear term here) صهريmy in-law علىthrough أميmy mother وقدand already حبلتshe became pregnant
الحاب صهري على أمي وقد حبلت
لئنif indeed ترثيتI took pity on بعدafter اليومtoday صدّاقاṢaddāq
لئن ترثيت بعد اليوم صدّاقا
May al-ḥāb be my in-law through my mother, who has become pregnant,
My lover married my mother while she was pregnant
if, after today, I ever pity Ṣaddāq,
If you mourn me after today seeking reward
يشكوhe complains فأرحمهso I pity him حتّىuntil إذاwhen انكشفتwere laid bare
يشكو فأرحمه حتّى إذا انكشفت
أحوالهhis circumstances كانhe was قاروناQarun وزنداقاand a heretic
أحواله كان قارونا وزنداقا
who complains, so I pity him—until, when laid bare,
Have mercy on him until when his circumstances are revealed
his circumstances show him to be a Qarun and a heretic.
He would be as wealthy as Qarun and Zindiq
